Calling all Texans with a hankering to test their vocal talents on NBC's two-time Emmy-winning hit showThe Voice.
NBC has announced open call auditions for the show's 10th season, and Houston is one of only four cities where the judges will sample the talent pool.
The auditions begin at Minute Maid Park on January 9, 2016, before continuing on to Memphis, Chicago, and Philadelphia, the latter two cities each garnering two days of auditions. It's one day only for Houston; and the last time the talent quest visited, there were more than 3,500 would-be stars lining up to sing.
The official online casting site notes, "We are looking for solo artists and duos that perform all types of music: pop, rock, R&B, hip-hop, alternative, Latin, country, blues, indie. We want to know your story and why you are The Voice."
There are a number ofeligibility requirements, such as a background check and turning 15 by March 28, 2016. You'll have to put on ice any plans to run for public office for at least a year, and you'll need the bucks to pay your own transportation for the early audition rounds.
Texans have done pretty well on the show, with Mesquite's Craig Wayne Boydtaking the seventh season and Cypress' Danielle Bradbery, at age 16, winning the fourth season.

Alfredo has been invaluable as my local eyes and ears for overseeing a complete makeover of my house. I highly recommend him to anyone looking to sell or buy a property in the Austin area. His expertise in the local markets and responsiveness to my needs are exceptional. "
