Texas has a lot of heritage behind its history. A while it is important to acknowledge it, it’s also special to have a honorary date of it. The Texas State Legislature voted to choose the last Friday in September as American Indian Heritage Day. This is the day in which they recognize the cultural, historical and social contributions that American Indian communities and their leaders have made to the state of Texas.
So this year, American Indian Heritage Day is going to be on Friday, September 25th. For the 3rd year in a row, the Great Promise For American Indians and the Bullock Texas State History Museum are partnering up and have a day of celebration for this event. It will be held at the History Museum located at 1800 N Congress Ave, right across the street from University of Texas, Austin campus from 9:00 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.
This free day of celebration will include several performances by the Great Promise for American Indians. They are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. - 10:45 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. and will include tribal dancing and drumming presentations in the Museum lobby area. There will also be interesting programs for school groups and museum visitors from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. exposing the groups that have called Texas home, learning about their cultural traditions like clothing decoration, art creation, storytelling and food preparation plus several hands-on activity stations.
From 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. there will be a community celebration honoring the American Indians of yesterday and today. It will include the contemporary and traditional arts of the native groups in Texas by their dancing and drumming performances along with their beautiful art displays.
So come on out to the Bullock Texas State History Museum and celebrate the culture of Texas's American Indian groups on Friday, September 25th!

I loved working with Michelle. I am writing this review from my dream house...all of which Michelle made possible! She was available to answer any questions and changed her schedule around to make showings work with our schedule. I was so impressed with her dedication to getting our house sold quickly. After all was said and done...she threw us an incredible house warming party for our friends and family. I could not have asked for a better experience!"
