Black Violin is coming to the Long Center in Austin, Texas this April 29th. Starting at 8:00 pm, you won’t want to miss this blend of classical, hip-hop, rock R&B and bluegrass music that Black Violin portrays. Accompanied by a drummer and a DJ, Black Violin has been performing to standing room only crowds. Declared one of the hottest bands of SXSW, Black Violin was named after an album by African-American preeminent jazz swing-era violinist. Stuff Smith, Will B and Key perform an average of 200 shows per year and have brought their music to 49 states and 36 countries. Black Violin recently penned a major label deal with Universal Classics and were invited to perform at both TEDx and Google’s Meeting of the Minds event, Zeitgeist.
Black Violin has performed at many prestigious events including the Presidential Inauguration Ball for President Barack Obama, the NFL celebrations for three Super Bowls, US Open at Forest Hills with Jordin Sparks, US troops in Iraq, and SXSW Opening Keynote Performance.
