But wait, we need to be reminded that this time of year is when we are supposed to be making unforgettable memories with our family and friends. So whether they are visiting from out of town or live just around the corner, gather them up and head on over to the Bullock Texas State History Museum and enjoy their Free First Sundays.
This awesome opportunity is put on partnership with Girlstart, a nonprofit organization, dedicated to increasing the interest and engagement in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) of girls, through creative and advanced, nationally-recognized informal STEM education programs.
On Sunday, December 6th, you are welcome to come out and participate in all of their hands-on activities and experiments, Free of charge, all day. For families with children ages 5 and up, you’ll be able to discover the mysteries behind this magical time of year. It will include investigating the chemistry of snowflakes, construction of trains along with some ice cold snow fun! They didn’t forget about those who have younger children, too, ages 6 and under will have a winter-themed story time that will take place at 2:00 p.m. Of course you can always explore the Story of Texas through their three floors of artifacts from around the state. There is really something for everyone, as they have an art creations area, gallery activities and special presentations by partnering organizations.
