Each year, in celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King’s legacy, the Annual Community comes together this January with a short program at the MLK Statue on the University of Texas campus. The March also uplifts diversity and multi-culturalism in the city of Austin. All business, non-profit organizations and individuals are invited to march and celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Soon after the march arrives on location, the MLK Community Festival will kick off and last until 3 pm. It will include all types of vendors and local music artists to make this year’s celebration the best ever. For more information or questions pertaining the MLK Community Festival, contact Carol Wright at 512.657.3064.
The Austin Area Heritage Council’s MLK Celebration is comprised of several events. Come join as many events as possible! There is the MLK Oratory Competition Finals, the MLK Youth Scholarship Awards, the MLK Day of Service all rounding out with the MLK March and Community Festival. In addition, there are many other Austin Area MLK activities being sponsored by various organizations.
It is asked that if marchers can help by donated canned goods or non-perishable food items, they will be donated to the Capital Area Food Bank. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., states, “True compassion is more than flinging a coin to a beggar; it is not haphazard and superficial. It comes to see that an edifice which produces beggars needs restructuring.” Donation receptacles will be available at the University of Texas and the Capitol.

"OMG. This was my wife and my first time buying a home together. We were far less educated in this process then we thought we were. As a result we were on pins and needles with the waiting game with the building inspection, the appraisal, the waiting for the CTC. Just all of it. So we were constantly calling Tammy Spracklen with question after question. She never lost her composure nor was she at any time less then the professional realtor that she is. We closed on our home and Tammy did not stop there. She gave my wife and I both a housewarming gift and called to see if we were doing ok with moving in and to let us know that she was still available to us should we have any questions or concerns in the future.
In other words we LOVE OUR REALTOR"
