New to Austin? Wondering about all the traffic, closed streets and this thing called SXSW?? South by Southwest (SXSW) is a festival-type event held every year around mid-March here in Austin which involves conferences, interactive media, film, and of course, music--it wouldn't be Austin without music! The first SXSW event was held March 13-15, 1987, to bring together people in the music and alternative media industry together to collaborate and network. It started with 177 Showcasing Artists, 15 Panels, Workshops & Sessions, and 15 Venues & Stages, and has grown into what we know today as a fantastic venue for many budding stars in the entertainment and media industry to jumpstart their careers. Last year, SXSW grew to 2,266 Showcasing Artists, 233 Panels, Workshops & Sessions, and 107 Venues & Stages, along with the introduction of SX Health and MedTech Expo, a two-day event that coincided with the upcoming opening of University of Texas’ Dell Medical School. The whole event now usually lasts about a week and has literally had the city and schools around the downtown area close early. If, while you're here, you think this may be a great city in which to live, give me a call! I'll be glad to help you see what it has to offer, and decide if Austin is right for you!

"Michelle began working with us while we were still in RI, 12 months before we arrived in TX. Once we were here, she presented a raft of good properties we toured and researched, including a home in Georgetown we ended up buying. Michelle was unfailingly responsive, thorough, and helpful. She was even better during the p&s and closing phases, with wise counsel, grasp of subtleties that would have escaped us, and a strong protectiveness of our interests. She's a superb realtor, more a friend by the end, and we would recommend her highly to anyone searching for a home in central TX."
