Patricia Busch - Agent
Yup, that’s you right in the middle, taking care of aging parents and your kids. Maybe even teenagers, God bless your soul. I get it, I am right there with you, trying to decide whether your parents should age in place or if it’s time to sell the family home and move into an assisted living home. And what about what you want! When the kids leave for college or work, is it time to get the home of your dreams? Walk to nice restaurants, live downtown, who cares if the soccer field is within walking distance!
From helping your child find a lease, to assisting you in finding your dream home, (or vacation home, or rental property for that matter) to selling the home your parents have been in for 30+ years, I can help with all your real estate needs. I have built a team of people that will make any transition easy for you and your budget.
With all that Austin has to offer, from amazing downtown condo’s to Lock and Leave’s in Lakeway, there is no need to move far away to “retire”. And with the Austin economy the way it is now, most likely your adult children will find employment here too, Austin has a 2.5% unemployment rate as of the beginning of 2016
A new trend in the market is multigenerational living. Yeah, that’s a fancy term for, “we were empty nesters for about an hour!” With the high cost of entry level housing in Austin and the surrounding areas many kids are coming back to home to live while they save some money for their first home. But wait, you kinda got used to them NOT being here, and admit it, you sorta liked it. We have a solution for that too! Many builders are offering homes with 2 master suites with at least one being on the first floor, and many have separate entry ways so you don’t need to know that they came home at 2:00 a.m or vice versa!
What about if mom and/or dad cannot live alone anymore, these multigenerational homes are a perfect fit. You all still have your own private space but in case of an emergency you are close at hand. And best of all kids can get to know their grandparents and have them involved in daily activities, like reading them books and getting to go to their after school activities.
