What a better way to spend an evening during the holiday season than outside, underneath the beautiful moonlight sky along with a Trail of Lights.  The Austin Trail of Lights Foundation has produced this authentically Austin community celebration for the last 50 years. Today, the Trail of Lights is one of the three biggest events in all of Austin and receives numerous national accolades. This deeply cherished local tradition, brings together the local community to connect and reflect over all the Austin has to offer.


Beginning Tuesday, December 8th and running through Tuesday, December 22nd, giving you a full 2 weeks to come on down to Zilker Park, 2100 Barton Springs Rd, Downtown Austin and enjoy this breathtaking sight!  Nightly from 7:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. you can enjoy not only the 1.25 miles of fun-filled Trail of Lights, but it is truly a winter wonderland.  With a 155 foot dazzling tree, all decorated for the season, 50 unique light displays, a ferris wheel  along with the North Pole with an interactive Santa’s Workshop, Candy Land and the big guy, himself!  


The Trail of Lights will also feature nightly live entertainment on the Community Performance Stage.  From famous and local singers, dancer and musician, this holiday festival will leave unforgettable memories in all of those who come and experience it.  Last year, over the 2 week period of time, 400,000 people from right here in and Austin and all over the world came to enjoy this special event.  


So start a new family holiday tradition or continue with the one you have already established and bring your family and friends to the spectacular Trail of Lights and enjoy an evening in a true winter wonderland………..complete with Santa Claus!
